Child Protection
The Scout Association takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of the children and young people in its care. The Scout Association believes that safeguarding and protecting the welfare of all the young people we work with is the responsibility of everyone. All the adult leaders at the ‘151’ have been subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau check, as well as enquiries through The Scout Association‟s vetting process. If you have any child protection concerns then please raise the matter with the Section Leader or discuss your concerns with the Group Scout Leader. The Scout Association leaflet entitled “Safe and Sound – How we keep your child safe in Scouting” can be found here
Consent
Whenever one of the sections take their young people away from the 151’s HQ, parents/guardians will be asked to complete and sign a ‘Consent Form’. This will ensure that the Leaders can take all the care necessary to ensure the safety and welbeing of the young people in their charge. Information required may include emergency contact details, health issues, dietry requirements and allergies. The young person’s section Leader will provide you with a form tailored for the particular activity.
